Last week, I attended the 19th annual Salon 2014 Seattle event hosted by Cathy Conner of Studio C.
It was held in a newly renovated Union Station in the International District of Seattle. The venue was perfect for painting. The first day and a half was sunny and the rest was cloudy and rainy — that’s actually pretty good for Seattle.
There were a bunch of new participants including Ali Kay who was busy painting this wet-themed mural.
Pascal Amblard sent this montage of past hosts of Salon.
Here I am working on my panel. I had quite a bit to finish during the 4-day event.
My finished panel
My new friend, Foffe from Sweden. Another great addition to Salon.
Golden Artist Colors was there along with Proceed Products. Mark Golden and his staff are always extremely generous sponsors and suppliers during the event.
Catarina always brings a superbly detailed panel. She and her husband, Stefano are hosting next years Salon in Lecce, Italy.
Local vendors had a busy event. There was a large amount of local traffic thanks to a great location and a timely write-up in the Seattle Times.
This is a spontaneous group mural done on an extra piece of canvas.
The group mural is always a big draw for participants. It is an ongoing project for the 4 days and when finished, it is donated to a local charity.
Stefano is showing his likeness to his panel.
Many participants spend most of the time painting an additional panel during the Salon. Here is Stefano’s progress.
This is a new, local participant who painted the beautiful Mt. Rainier, a mountain that defines the Seattle skyline, when it’s not cloudy!
Progress of the group mural.
We all had an awesome time at Salon in Seattle. Cathy did a fantastic job with the entire event. I’m sure everyone who attended would agree. Thanks, Cathy and we’re looking forward to the 20th anniversary Salon in ITALY!
The panel you painted wow salon was awesome to see
Salon was great and I enjoyed your pics!
